When was the work done?
The work was done in late October, 2010.
What was involved?
A cobblelock driveway was installed at the front of the house and the back garden was completely re-designed. When the garden was finished it had 3 separate patio areas, a small wall, fencing, flower beds and a new lawn. It was a fairly extensive job.
How did you choose Apco Garden Design?
I found out about Apco when I happened to see one of their signs on a front garden they were working on. I went to their website, contacted Colm and told him about the work I wanted done. I had tried contacting several other landscapers but strangely enough I wasn’t able to get through to many of them. Of those I was able to contact, one came out to assess the job but then never showed up again or quoted for it. Another said he would call out but never did. It was very surprising considering the economy. Choosing Colm was easy. He really seemed to know what he was talking about and was available to start the project the following week.
Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to Colm Henry?
Pretty much, yes. I had a basic concept of what I wanted done.
Did Colm introduce new ideas?
He did, especially with regards to the fencing and the different types we could choose from.
How did the project run?
It was excellent, reliable service. If Colm said he was going to be here at 8:00 AM, he was here at 8:00 AM. That was very important to me as I would have to leave for work. Colm also had great project management skills. He was able to schedule everything so that it worked insync. For instance, the trucks would turn up on time to take away the rubbish and the electrician showed up at the time that he was needed. The only hold up to finishing the job on schedule was the weather. At one point it just wouldn’t stop raining for six days in a row but there was nothing Colm could do about that. The original plan was to complete the project in six days but due to the rain, it was finished in ten.
What was the biggest benefit to you of using Apco Garden Design?
The biggest benefit was Colm’s reliability and the fact that he really seemed to know what he was talking about. It wasn’t just Colm either, his workmen were also extremely good.
What’s your favourite part now?
The raised area walking out into the back garden and the small wall Colm built for me.
Would you recommend Apco to others?
Oh I would indeed, yes.
